David Krejci Misses Bruins Practice, ‘Day To Day’ With Undisclosed Injury

BOSTON — David Krejci wasn’t on the ice for Bruins practice Tuesday at TD Garden.

The veteran center left Saturday night’s preseason finale against the Detroit Red Wings with what B’s head coach Claude Julien called a “very, very minor” issue.

Although he wouldn’t disclose the nature of his injury, Krejci is confident that he could return to the lineup soon. Boston opens its season Wednesday night against the Philadelphia Flyers at the Garden.

“I would say I’m close,” Krejci said. “Tomorrow, I have to feel better for me to be able to be on the ice. I would say it’s day to day.”

Krejci assured that his absence was due to being “cautious” rather than because he wasn’t feeling well.

“It was frustrating when I left the game — (it was) the last game of the preseason,” he said. “I’ve had two days off and everything that’s going to help a minor injury. Then I come in, in the morning and hear the news that I can’t skate today and that I’m day to day. I believe I’ll be back really soon.”

When he returns, Krejci is expected to pick up where he left off last season as an excellent two-way player with high production on offense.
