It took only one game for Edmonton Oilers fans to lose their patience.
In what is quickly becoming a new tradition in Edmonton, at least one disgruntled Oilers fan tossed his or her apparel onto the ice Thursday following the team’s 5-2, season-opening loss to the Calgary Flames, according to Twitter reports.
It’s possible more than one fan joined the fray — the photos below show two different articles of clothing — but the point stands that supporters clearly are losing patience with the organization amid its eight-year playoff drought.

The best part of Thursday’s clothing tomfoolery — we’ll dub it jersey-gate, for the sake of being creative — is that one fan seemingly lost a cell phone in the process. Bad call, chief.
