The Boston Bruins got off to a hot start at TD Garden on Tuesday night, but the Minnesota Wild would not be denied.
After trailing by two goals, the Wild scored three unanswered goals in the third period to hand the Bruins a 4-3 loss. Boston put the pressure on late in the third period in an attempt to force overtime, but Minnesota goaltender Niklas Backstrom came up big with some key stops down the stretch.
Perhaps the best of Backstrom’s saves came against Bruins forward Carl Soderberg, as he swiftly moved to his right to stop Soderberg’s one-time attempt.
