Ryan Kesler Cheap-Shots Mikael Granlund, Receives Major Penalty (GIF)

Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Kesler is a top two-way center, but he often plays on the edge.

He crossed the line at the end of Friday night’s game against the Minnesota Wild by receiving a major penalty for charging Minnesota forward Mikael Granlund as time expired. Wild winger Zach Parise, who had been battling with Kesler all game, stepped in to defend Granlund and received a major penalty for cross checking the Anaheim center.

As you might expect, Parise wasn’t happy with Kesler’s actions.

The Ducks won the game 2-1 on a third-period goal from first-line right winger Corey Perry, but don’t expect the tension between these teams to subside anytime soon.
