Darrelle Revis: Patriots Take Losses Harder Than Any Team Since High School

Darrelle Revis, Jordy NelsonGREEN BAY, Wis. — The New England Patriots haven’t lost many games since Tom Brady took over as their starting quarterback in 2001, but Sunday’s 26-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers was nothing new for cornerback Darrelle Revis.

Revis has lost as many games — 56 — as Brady despite being in the NFL for nearly half as long.

Revis’ New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were used to losing, but that feeling isn’t quite as accepted with the Patriots.

“Have I been on a team (that takes each individual loss so hard)? My high school team,” Revis said laughing after Sunday’s game. “My high school team, I’m being honest. We wound up winning states, but we went 14-1, we lost midway through the season, but my high school team, man. This organization has a lot of pride in winning. My high school did, the same thing, we had a lot of pride in winning every game. We want to win every game every week we play.”

The Patriots’ locker room was predictably gloomy after their 26-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers, but they weren’t overreacting, and they didn’t seem panicked.
