1:38 p.m.: It’s going to be a cold one here at Lambeau Field.

We’re just under three hours from game time, when the New England Patriots take on the Green Bay Packers, and it’s 32 degrees outside and falling. The temperature is supposed to be below 25 degrees by the 4:25 p.m. kickoff.

Here are three things we’ll be watching for this afternoon:

1. Who does Darrelle Revis cover?

There are three options at play: Revis can follow either wide receiver Jordy Nelson or Randall Cobb, or the Patriots can stick their cornerbacks on one side each and allow the Packers to dictate coverage. Logically, Revis should cover Cobb and Brandon Browner should follow Nelson with help over the top from safety Devin McCourty.

2. Can the Patriots score in the first quarter?

The Packers have demolished their last four home opponents 66-0 in the first quarter. Ironically, the last team that scored in the first quarter at Lambeau Field was the New York Jets. For once, it might be in the Patriots’ best interest to follow the Jets’ lead.

3. How do the Packers cover Rob Gronkowski?

If there’s one player on the Patriots’ offense who can turn the game, it’s Gronkowski, and like most teams, the Packers don’t have an obvious player to cover the big tight end. Our best guess it that it will be linebacker A.J. Hawk, with help from rookie safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

2:10 p.m.: Jonas Gray reportedly will play this afternoon, and Chandler Jones reportedly won’t.

Many Patriots players, including wideout Julian Edelman, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and offensive linemen Cameron Fleming, Chris Barker and Jordan Devey already have taken the game field.

3 p.m.: Here are the Patriots’ inactives:

OL Cameron Fleming
OL Jordan Devey
DE Chandler Jones
CB Malcolm Butler
RB James White
LS Danny Aiken
LB Chris White

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20143:08pm

3:06 p.m.: Rob Ninkovich will long snap this afternoon with Danny Aiken (concussion) out. It looked like Aiken would be good to go after the Patriots released practice-squad long snapper Charley Hughlett.

The Patriots are suiting up six wide receivers, including Aaron Dobson. Dobson hasn’t played since Week 6. He wore a black “practice player of the week” jersey after the Patriots beat the Detroit Lions last week. Perhaps he did a great Calvin Johnson impression.

Linebacker Darius Fleming is set to make his NFL debut after being drafted in 2012.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20143:20pm

3:20 p.m.: Rookie defensive tackle Dominique Easley also returns this week after being out against the Lions. He had a big game two weeks ago against the Indianapolis Colts.

Here’s Ninkovich long snapping during pregame:

3:24 p.m.: Something that really stands out about Lambeau Field are the metal bleachers, even down in the expensive seats. With temperatures expected in the low 20s, I wouldn’t imagine many fans will want to sit on those frigid bleachers.

First quarter, 15:00: Vince Wilfork, Dan Connolly, Devin McCourty and Matthew Slater are going out for the coin toss. We’re a couple minutes from a what should be a helluva football game.

The Patriots lost the toss, and the Packers chose to receive. The Patriots likely would have deferred anyway.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20144:34pm

First quarter, 11:14, Packers 3-0: The Packers gashed the Patriots early on the ground, as running back Eddie Lacy picked up 13- and 24-yard carries. The Patriots were able to hold the Packers in the red zone, however, and forced a 32-yard field goal by Mason Crosby.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20144:42pm

First quarter, 9:16, Packers 3-0: After picking up a first down on the Patriots’ opening play of the drive, their offense stalled with three straight runs.

Tom Brady hit wideout Brandon LaFell for a first-down pass, putting the Patriots quarterback over 3,000 yards on the season.

Brandon Bolden and Shane Vereen drew the start at running back for the Patriots. LeGarrette Blount got the first carry over Jonas Gray.

The Packers have the ball on their own 17-yard line.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20144:56pm

First quarter, 3:27, Packers 6-0: It’s the old bend-but-don’t-break defense for the Patriots so far. The Packers are 3:27 away from shutting out their fifth straight home opponent in the first quarter.

The Patriots’ secondary is doing a great job so far. Cornerback Brandon Browner has been flagged twice, however — once for holding and once for illegal hands to the face.

Danny Amendola is back for the kick.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20145:03pm

First quarter, 1:53, Packers 6-0: The Patriots might want to start putting some points on the board. They just went three and out after a 5-yard completion to Gronkowski and a 4-yarder to Edelman. Brady’s first pass of the drive was incomplete to LaFell.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20145:06pm

First quarter, :08, Packers 13-0: And just like that, the Packers are out to a two-score lead. Rodgers burned Logan Ryan down the sideline for a 45-yard hookup with Davante Adams. Then Rodgers hit tight end Richard Rodgers for a 32-yard touchdown over safety Patrick Chung.

The Patriots will need to respond soon, or else the Packers will start putting this game away on the ground.

Rodgers hasn’t thrown at Brandon Browner or Darrelle Revis yet.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20145:15pm

Second quarter, 12:59, Packers 13-7: Brandon Bolden just scored a TD. Yes. Brandon Bolden.

Not LeGarrette Blount, Jonas Gray or Shane Vereen. Brandon Bolden.

Oh, Patriots.

Bolden now leads the Patriots with two carries for 18 yards. Brady hit Gronk for 29 yards earlier in the drive and Michael Hoomanawanui for 23 yards.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20145:29pm

Second quarter, 5:54, Packers 16-7: The Patriots just held the Packers again, and forced their third field goal. Rodgers is now 0-for-3 throwing at Darrelle Revis.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20145:47pm

Second quarter, 1:09, Packers 16-14: All of a sudden, it’s a two-point game here at Lambeau.

The Patriots scored on a 2-yard TD pass from Brady to LaFell. Gronk almost went full RoboGronk on a play earlier in the drive, when he broke four tackles on his way to the 2-yard line.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20145:56pm

Second quarter, 0:14, Packers 23-14: The Packers picked up a key touchdown in under a minute to close out the half. Revis was burned by Nelson on a 45-yard touchdown pass from Rodgers. Revis has allowed two catches on six targets for 53 yards and a touchdown. That’s just the second touchdown Revis has allowed this season. Revis, otherwise, has been great on the afternoon.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20145:59pm

End half, Packers 23-14: The Patriots kneeled the ball to end the half. The trail by two scores going into the locker room for halftime.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20146:19pm

Third quarter, 13:57, Packers 23-14: That wasn’t an ideal way for the Patriots to start off the second half. Brady threw two incompletions, and left guard Dan Connolly was flagged for holding.

The Packers have the ball at their own 46-yard line. The defense will need to hold here. They can’t let the Packers get up by three scores.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20146:29pm

Third quarter, 9:29, Packers 23-14: The Patriots halted the Packers, and Green Bay kicker Mason Crosby missed a field-goal attempt. The Patriots have the ball at their own 30-yard line now.

Dont’a Hightower made a key runs top on Eddie Lacy, and Chris Jones sacked Rodgers for a 5-yard loss.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20146:32pm

Third quarter, 7:21, Packers 23-14: The Patriots’ defense is doing pretty much all they can to keep the team in this game, but the offense isn’t really doing their part.

The Patriots just went three and out. Brady threw two incompletions to tight end Rob Gronkowski, who has four catches for 55 yards on the evening.

Receiver Julian Edelman didn’t enter the field on that series. He injured his left leg on the Patriots’ first drive of the second half.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20146:34pm

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20146:41pm

Third quarter, 2:21, Packers 23-14: The Patriots just forced their first punt of the game. Jamie Collins sacked Rodgers and Brandon Browner had a huge pass breakup.

The Patriots have the ball on their own 22-yard line.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20146:47pm

End third quarter, Packers 23-14: Jonas Gray just received his first carry in six quarters. He ran for 4 yards on second and 5.

The Patriots are driving with the ball on the Packers’ 41-yard line on third and 1.
Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20146:52pm

Fourth quarter, 13:51, Packers 23-21: Watch out Packers, the Patriots are threatening.

The Patriots just scored on a 15-yard dart from Brady to LaFell. That’s LaFell’s seventh touchdown of the season.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20147:06pm

Fourth quarter, 8:41, Packers 26-21: One play after the Patriots lost Chung and Hightower to injuries, Packers rookie wideout Davante Adams hand-delivered an early Christmas gift to the Patriots with a crucial drop.

Adams would have scored a touchdown, but Green Bay had to settle for a field goal.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20147:17pm

Fourth quarter, 2:40, Packers 26-21: The Patriots were driving down the field and picking up key third down conversions, then Brady ate a sack and Gostkowski missed a field goal, and that could be all she wrote here. The Packers have the ball on their own 37-yard line with less than three minutes to go.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20147:27pm

Final, Packers 26-21: The Patriots tried to make a late-game surge, but it wasn’t enough, as the Packers held on to win 26-21.

Rodgers hit Cobb on third and short for the first down to seal the game. Patriots fans shouldn’t panic after this one, though. The game could have a different result on neutral territory, and these teams could meet again.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20147:58pm

2:10 p.m.: Jonas Gray reportedly will play this afternoon, and Chandler Jones reportedly won’t.

Many Patriots players, including wideout Julian Edelman, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and offensive linemen Cameron Fleming, Chris Barker and Jordan Devey, already have taken the game field.

Doug Kyed Sun, Nov 30, 20148:07pm

Second quarter, 0:14, Packers 23-14: The Packers picked up a key touchdown in under a minute to close out the half. Revis was burned by Nelson on a 45-yard touchdown pass from Rodgers. Revis has allowed two catches on six targets for 53 yards and a touchdown. That’s just the second touchdown Revis has allowed this season. Otherwise, he’s been great on the afternoon.
