Suso’s Agent: Liverpool Wants Contract Extension; No Deal With Milan, Napoli

Suso might stay with Liverpool after all, instead of taking his talents to Italy.

Suso’s agent, Jaume Serra, said Wednesday that his client could sign a new contract with Liverpool, which would tie him to the club beyond next summer, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Suso’s current contract expires in June 2015, and he was rumored to be nearing an agreement to join AC Milan as a free agent next summer. Serra said Suso has no deal with the Italian giant.

“There is no agreement with Milan,” Serra told Calciomercato.it, according to the Liverpool Echo. “It is certainly a possibility, but for now, there’s nothing more to say.

“Rather, Liverpool are pushing for his renewal, so we cannot rule even this hypothesis out.

“At the moment, it’s too early to discuss any possibilities.”

Suso, 20, has made just one appearance for Liverpool this season. He played the final 23 minutes in the Reds’ (penalty shootout) win over Middlesbrough in the Capital One Cup on Sept. 23.

Suso has been a part of Liverpool’s first team setup since 2012-13 season. He has played 21 games since making his debut in September 2012.

Suso spent last season on loan at Almeria in his native Spain, playing 33 games in La Liga (first division) for the Spanish club.

Serra also denied rumors linking Suso with a move to Napoli.

“No, I’ve never had any contact with Napoli,” Serra said. “For now, we can rule out this possibility. There’s no interest from them.”

Suso might become an important part of Liverpool’s squad one day, and the coming weeks and months will determine whether that happens.
