Wrigley Field is starting to look pretty different these days.

The Chicago Cubs broke ground last month on a $575 million renovation project, and the first things to go were the iconic bleachers. Chicago photographer Nick Ulivieri posted photos of the progress Tuesday, and the ballpark looks rather eerie.

In case you’re not very familiar with Wrigley, here’s what the outfield looked like before.

The famous ivy-covered outfield walls are staying, but most of the 100-year-old ballpark’s modern updates will be to the outfield seating and scoreboards. The plans were met with much controversy, as the rooftop businesses adjacent to the park fear the new signage and huge Jumbotron will obstruct their views into the stadium, for which they pay the Cubs a percentage of their revenue.

The Cubs are planning for four phases of renovations to be completed by 2018.
