Pete Frates Celebrates Birthday At Pats Game, Hangs Out With Robert Kraft (Photo)

Pete Frates is celebrating turning 30 in the best way possible.

The former Boston College baseball player, whose battle with ALS inspired this summer’s Ice Bucket Challenge, headed to Gillette Stadium on Sunday to watch the New England Patriots take on the Buffalo Bills on his birthday. Frates and his wife Julie even had a chance to pose with New England’s three Vince Lombardi Trophies and hang out with Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

The Patriots faithful also showed their love for Frates, singing “Happy Birthday” to him during halftime of the game, while Kraft stood right next to him.

The Patriots game was the cherry on top of an eventful birthday weekend for Frates. On Saturday, over 500 people turned out to Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, Mass., for the third annual “Plunge 4 Pete,” which was broadcast live on ESPN’s “SportsCenter.”
