BOSTON — Bruins forward Loui Eriksson won’t play in Thursday night’s game against the New Jersey Devils at TD Garden because of an injury, per head coach Claude Julien.
Julien was asked if Eriksson’s issue will be a long-term thing, and he said “not at the moment, I don’t think so.”
The veteran forward was slashed by Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Robert Bortuzzo in the hand/wrist area during Wednesday night’s matchup at Consol Energy Center. The play happened in the second period, and no penalty was called on Bortuzzo.
Eriksson did return to the game, but he played just 3:20 in the third period and never took a shift in overtime.
