Ray Lewis Clarifies Controversial Comments About Tom Brady, Tuck Rule

Ray Lewis really didn’t choose his words wisely.

The former Baltimore Ravens linebacker sent New England Patriots fans — and most level-headed football fans, for that matter — into a frenzy earlier this week when he claimed quarterback Tom Brady is only known because of the famous “Tuck Rule” play against the Oakland Raiders on Jan. 19, 2002. Lewis, now an ESPN analyst, clarified his comments Thursday via Twitter.

Surprise, surprise: Lewis’ clarification is a stark contrast from how his previous comments were interpreted.

Brady was asked about Lewis’ initial comments Thursday at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots quarterback took the high road in his response.
