Tim Cahill’s Bicycle-Kick Goal Knocks China Out Of 2015 Asian Cup (GIF)

Australia’s Tim Cahill just can’t stop scoring jaw-dropping goals during the twilight of his international soccer career.

Cahill scored a fine bicycle-kick goal Thursday in Australia’s 2-0 win over China in the quarterfinals of the 2015 AFC Asian Cup. The goal was the first of two for Cahill, who sealed the host nation’s place in the semifinals.

The tension at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia, was thick before Cahill eased it in the 49th minute. China failed to fully clear Mark Bresciano’s corner kick, and Australia fullback Ivan Franjic headed the ball back into the penalty area. Cahill’s back was to goal as he tracked the ball, but that didn’t stop him from booting it past goalkeeper Wang Dalei and sending the crowd into delirium.

Cahill doubled Australia’s fun in the 64th minute when he headed home Jason Davidson’s cross in more routine, Cahill-esque style.

Cahill now has scored 39 goals in 80 games for his country. He’ll retire from international soccer following the 2015 Asian Cup. Chances are, he’ll score a few more great goals for Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls before he stops playing altogether.
