Bill Belichick had some free time after he arrived early for the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, so he made an impromptu appearance at Indiana Hoosiers basketball practice.
Indiana head coach Tom Crean, who knows Belichick through his brother in-laws John and Jim Harbaugh, initially expected New England Patriots assistant to the coaching staff Mike Lombardi to visit the team in Bloomington, Ind., on Tuesday. Crean found out Tuesday morning that Belichick would be tagging along, Scout.com’s Justin Albers reported.
The Patriots head coach gave a “tremendous speech,” Albers was told, that “fired up” the Hoosiers players.
