Jordan Henderson’s Deflected Goal Gives LFC Win Over Swansea City (GIF)

Good met luck Monday when Jordan Henderson was barreling toward Swansea City’s goal.

Henderson scored the game-winning goal in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Swansea City in the Premier League. The Liverpool midfielder benefited from the luckiest of deflections to score the goal, which kept Liverpool in touching distance of their rivals for a top-four finish in this season’s Premier League.

Martin Skrtel and Daniel Sturridge combined to send Henderson in on goal in the 68th minute. Sturridge flicked Skrtel’s pass into the path of Henderson. Swansea City defender Jordi Amat desperately tried to intervene but ended up kicking the ball off Henderson’s shin with enough force to send it over the head of goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski into the goal, instead.

The goal was Henderson’s sixth in all competitions in 2014-15 and his third in as many games.

They trail fourth-placed Manchester United by two points, third-placed Arsenal by three points and second-placed Manchester City by four points.
