Larry Bird’s trash talk game is still as good as it ever was.
The Boston Celtics legend is known for not only being one of the greatest players in NBA history, but he’s also known as one of the best trash talkers the sport has ever seen. He proved that again recently when talking about longtime rival Dominique Wilkins.
Wilkins is being honored by the Atlanta Hawks for his incredible career with a new statue outside Philips Arena in Atlanta. There was no denying Wilkins’ offensive prowess during his playing days, but his defense left something to be desired.
Bird obviously remembers this, and he was quick with a quip upon finding out Wilkins was getting a statue.
Larry Bird on video says of Wilkins statue: "I'm pretty sure it's not made in a defensive stance." #ATLHawks—

The quote is all in jest, of course. Bird and Wilkins enjoyed a memorable rivalry during their playing days, a rivalry that started with a memorable encounter in Wilkins’ rookie season.
Bird obviously was right, though. Here’s what the statue looks like.
