The Boston Bruins weren’t perfect in their 3-1 win over the Ottawa Senators, but Tuukka Rask was close to it.
The Bruins goaltender ended Tuesday night with 39 saves — on his 28th birthday, no less — and was the key to Boston’s win over a team that had won eight of its last nine. His 21-save second period in particular led the Bruins to victory.
The Sens obviously had plenty of scoring chances in the middle frame, but Rask thwarted every last one. He even had a whopping four saves alone on defenseman Erik Karlsson, who’s one of Ottawa’s leading scorers with 16 goals on the season.
You can relive Rask’s stellar second period on the Amica Coverage Cam in the video above.
