Former Kentucky QB Jared Lorenzen’s Belly Flop Will Make Your Day (Video)

Who knew a six-second video could encapsulate how every single Kentucky basketball fan felt Sunday?

Former Wildcats quarterback Jared Lorenzen, better known as “The Hefty Lefty,” managed to do just that. Kentucky’s 1998 Mr. Football, perhaps in an attempt to cheer up depressed UK fans, performed a massive belly flop into a pool, and it was glorious.

This video is awesome, but it’s also sort of a microcosm of Saturday night’s misfortune. Kentucky, of course, fell to Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament’s national semifinal, ending its pursuit of a perfect season.

Lorenzen, lest we forget, served as Eli Manning’s backup on the New York Giants in their Super Bowl XLII matchup against the New England Patriots. If only Manning had taken a page out of Lorenzen’s book and fallen face first that night, Patriots fans might have had another perfect season to talk about.
