Mookie Betts Smokes Home Run In Red Sox’s Fenway Park Opener (Video)

BOSTON — Mookie Betts did enough in the first two innings of the Red Sox’s home opener at Fenway Park to fill a complete highlight reel.

Betts, piggybacking on an awesome Opening Day pregame ceremony, robbed Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper of a home run, stole two bases on one play and then absolutely smoked a three-run homer off Jordan Zimmermann.

Betts’ homer was his second of the season. It’s quite the coincidence that his first came off Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cole Hamels and his second came against Zimmermann, as both pitchers were tossed around in trade speculation this winter as the Red Sox failed to land an “ace.”
