No one ever accused the Bruins of being prolific offensively this season. But over the weekend, Boston stepped up in the offensive zone en route to a crucial win.
Early in the second period of Saturday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Patrice Bergeron corralled his own rebound and buried a goal high corner past goaltender James Reimer. While the tally was a nifty one, NESN’s Andy Brickley Brick highlighted what set Bergeron up in initially: Reaching the puck first and situating himself in the high slot to be primed for a scoring chance.
The goal was Boston’s only tally in regulation, but the B’s skated away with a 2-1 shootout win.
