Giancarlo Stanton has a knack for going above and beyond.
Stanton launched two home runs Saturday as the Miami Marlins defeated the New York Mets 9-5 at Citi Field. The slugger’s second homer traveled an estimated 466 feet, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
Stanton’s tape-measure blast against Alex Torres marked the longest home run in Citi Field history. The previous record — a 465-foot homer — belonged to none other than Stanton himself.
In other words, it was business as usual.
