Rays’ Minor League Team Cancels A-Rod-Trolling ‘Juice Box Night’ (Photo)

When it comes to promotions at minor league baseball games, everything is on the table.

Everything that doesn’t have to do with Alex Rodriguez, that is.

The Charlotte Stone Crabs, Single-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, had a hilarious promotion planned for Friday’s game against the Tampa Yankees. Ladies and gentlemen, we present “Juice Box Night.”

Hey, it’s just a juice box, right? There’s no way it’s a reference to a certain Yankees designated hitter’s steroid use, right? Well, here’s the caption on the box:

“The Sports Drink. 100% Juiced. “Side Affects include: tainted records, inflated ego, omission from the Hall of Fame, and more!”

OK, that’s definitely about A-Rod, and that’s definitely pretty funny. Apparently someone in New York wasn’t too amused, though, as the Stone Crabs canceled the event before the game — a 4-1 Charlotte win — and even issued an apology.

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

A-Rod and his transgressions continue to be the elephant in the room for the Yankees, who seem to be having a difficult time balancing his impressive milestones with his obviously tainted history.

Our advice? Just think outside the box.
