Kids are counting down the days until school’s out, but in the meantime, the Boston Red Sox have plenty of family fun planned to kick-start the summer early.
The club announced a series of “Calling All Kids” events Monday that will take place at Fenway Park during the month of June. The initiative is in partnership with Hood Milk.
The first event on the list kicks off Tuesday with Mike Napoli bobblehead night, and all fans at the 7:10 p.m. game against the Minnesota Twins will receive a bobblehead of Boston’s bearded first baseman. The June 2 game also is part of the team’s “Family 4 Pax” promotion, which includes four tickets to the game, four hot dogs, and four sodas for $75.
On Sunday, June 7, all kids are invited onto the field to run the bases after the Red Sox’s 1:35 p.m. game against the Oakland Athletics.
While the Red Sox are in Kansas City taking on the Royals, season ticket holders are invited to Fenway on Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20, to take batting practice on the field.
On Sunday, June 21, dads and their families can come to Fenway and walk around the warning track from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of the Father’s Day “Walk in the Park.” Wally the Green Monster and his dad, Walter, also will be there, as well as face painters, stilt walkers, and caricature and balloon artists. Fans interested in attending should enter through Gate C.
