Brandon Bass and Boston Celtics might not be finished with one another just yet.
Many believed Bass, who’s set to hit unrestricted free agency Wednesday, and the Celtics would go their separate ways this offseason, but The Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn reported Tuesday that Boston is one of “several teams” interested in the veteran forward.
Bass was a consistent contributor for the Celtics throughout the 2014-15 campaign, playing in all 82 games for the second consecutive season and averaging 10.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. But his age (30) and expected asking price (he made $6.9 million this past season) make him an awkward fit for a young Celtics team that still has a long way to go in its effort to return to contending for championships.
Free agency officially begins at 12:01 a.m. ET Wednesday.
