Take a bow, Aron Johannsson. You might have scored the goal of the year for the United States men’s national soccer team.

Johannsson scored a fine, chipped goal Saturday in the United States’ 6-0 win over Cuba in the quarterfinals of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Team USA already was leading 3-0 in the 33rd minute when Johannsson ran onto Michael Bradley’s perfect long pass. Johannsson controlled the pass with his first touch and became a U.S. soccer sensation with his second.

The goal was Johannsson’s first in the 2015 Gold Cup and fourth of his burgeoning international career.

Johannsson assisted Omar Gonzalez’s goal later in the first half and won the penalty kick, which Clint Dempsey converted, in the second half.

Johnannsson’s wonder-goal merely was a highlight in an all-around impressive performance from the 24-year-old striker.
