David Ortiz Returns, Dustin Pedroia Still Out For Red Sox Vs. Tigers

The Boston Red Sox are back in the win column.

Boston snapped an eight-game losing streak Friday night and earned its first win since the Major League Baseball All-Star break with a 2-1 walk-off victory over the Detroit Tigers at Fenway Park.

The Sox will look to make it two in a row Saturday afternoon, and they’ll do so with the services of David Ortiz, who returns as Boston’s designated hitter after sitting out Friday night.

Brock Holt gets the start at second base in place of Dustin Pedroia, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list before Saturday’s game.

Hanley Ramirez shifts from the DH spot to left field, while Alejandro De Aza bumps to right field and starts in place of Friday night’s right fielder, Shane Victorino. Rookie catcher Blake Swihart gets the start behind the dish batting ninth and will catch for knuckleballer Steven Wright.
