Xander Bogaerts will not be making a trip to Cincinnati next week after being beaten out by Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas for the American League’s final All-Star spot.
NESN’s Dennis Eckersley believes that was a mistake.
In fact, Eckersley argued Friday that Bogaerts shouldn’t even have needed to through the Final Vote process — he and former Boston Red Sox teammate Jose Iglesias should have been the AL’s two shortstop representatives.
