Pedro Martinez took everyone for a ride, just like he did throughout his illustrious career.
Martinez’s speech at the 2015 National Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony Sunday lived up to expectations, as the former major league pitcher tugged on heartstrings and put smiles on faces. It was a boisterous crowd in Cooperstown, N.Y., and Martinez was as entertaining as ever.
Martinez is most known for his dominance with the Boston Red Sox, though he also suited up for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Montreal Expos, New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies in his 18 big league seasons.
The Dominican Republic native wants to be remembered for his impact beyond the diamond, and his love for his country shined through Sunday, as he spoke in both English and Spanish.
Watch Martinez’s rousing speech below. It’s a classic.
