The Boston Red Sox continued to swing the bats well in a 7-2 win over the Kansas City Royals at Fenway Park on Friday. And they did it against one of the best pitchers in the game in Johnny Cueto.
While there were plenty of players who had big nights offensively, Josh Rutledge stood out in the No. 9 spot thanks to a two-run homer in the sixth inning.
“We had a good approach today,” Rutledge told NESN’s Gary Striewski on “Red Sox Final” after the game. “We were able to get guys on and get big hits to drive them in.”
