If first impressions really are everything, Jonas Gustavsson’s Boston Bruins career has a bright future.
The Bruins’ backup goalie got the start Wednesday night against the Colorado Avalanche, and the veteran didn’t disappoint. Gustavsson stepped in and turned aside 20 of the 22 shots he faced in Boston’s 6-2 win, its first of the season.
Some of Gustavsson’s best work came early in the first period where he stood tall in the midst of an Avs siege, eventually turning in his best save of the night on Colorado’s Mikko Rantanen, which can be seen above as the DCU Save of the Game.
