Jurgen Klopp faced the media for the first time as Liverpool manager Friday.

The German answered reporters’ questions with expected honesty, wit and humor during what was, by most accounts, a dazzling performance.

Here are some key quotes from Klopp’s introductory press conference.

On what attracted him to Liverpool:
“I was never a guy for an easy way. This is the biggest challenge in football. It is the most interesting job in world football.”

On Liverpool’s current state:
“In this moment we are not the best team in the world, but who cares? We want to be the best team in the world in the future.”

On how he wants Liverpool to play:
“Winning is important but so is how you win and how you play the game. I believe in a playing philosophy that is very emotional.”

“My teams play at full throttle. They must take it to the limit every single game.”

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

On his rapport with fans:
“I want to build a great relationship with these fans and give them memories to cherish.”
