FOXBORO, Mass. — We now know why New England Patriots cornerback Tarell Brown was active in Week 3 but was held out of action. He was limited in practice Wednesday with a foot injury.
Brown wasn’t listed on the Patriots’ injury report prior to Week 3, but he didn’t play a single snap against the Jacksonville Jaguars, standing on the sideline all game in full uniform. Brown was spotted in the locker room after the Patriots’ Week 2 win over the Buffalo Bills icing his foot.
Guard Ryan Wendell was a full participant in practice after recovering from his illness. Rookie defensive end Trey Flowers was limited with knee and shoulder injuries.
Defensive tackle Dominique Easley (hip), linebacker Dont’a Hightower (shoulder) and cornerback Logan Ryan (shoulder) were removed from the injury report.
The Patriots take on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5. Cowboys wide receivers Dez Bryant (foot) and Brice Butler (hamstring), linebacker Sean Lee (concussion), pass rusher Randy Gregory (ankle) and tight end James Hanna (ankle) didn’t practice Wednesday. Linebacker Andrew Gachkar (foot) and defensive end Ryan Russell (groin) were full participants in practice.
