Many consider soccer to be beautiful when players keep the ball on the ground, but one Japanese high school team showed how to play beautiful — and winning — soccer in the air.

Tamano-Konan scored a jaw-dropping goal Saturday in its 2-1 win over Sakuyo in the Japanese national high school soccer championship tournament. Thankfully, one viewer recorded the goal and uploaded it to YouTube, much to the delight of the soccer world.

The Tamano-Konan goalkeeper started the sequence by booted the ball upfield, and it didn’t touch the ground until after it was in the Sakuyo goal thanks to a series of deft touches and the most audacious of shots.

We don’t know the names of the goal-scorer or his teammates, but we can only assume they’ll form the spine of Japan’s national team one day. OK, maybe not, but what a goal it was.
