Liverpool’s Nathaniel Clyne Among Europa League’s ‘Best XI’ In Group Stage

Liverpool fullback Nathaniel Clyne has been named in the UEFA Europa League’s Team of the Group Stage.

The Reds finished top of Group B to qualify for the knockout phase, with Clyne playing in every game of the European campaign bar the opening clash with Bordeaux.

The 24-year-old England international takes his place in a three-man defence — alongside Fenerbahce’s Gokhan Gonul and FC Krasnodar’s Andreas Granqvist — in a 3-4-3 formation.

Clyne, a summer signing from Southampton, has enjoyed more playing time under Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp than any other player, notching 1170 minutes in all competitions.

The Reds will play German Bundesliga side FC Augsburg over two legs in February for a place in the last 16.
