Report: Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski Will Play Vs. Texans After Making Trip To Houston

UPDATE (8:45 p.m. ET): It appears Rob Gronkowski won’t be a spectator this weekend when the New England Patriots play the Houston Texans.

Gronk, who suffered a knee injury in Week 12 against the Denver Broncos, “is expected to play” Sunday night, a source told The Boston Globe’s Ben Volin. This news comes hours after another report said the Patriots tight end made the trip to Houston with his teammates.

ORIGINAL STORY: There’s a chance New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski returns to game action just two weeks after suffering a knee injury in a Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Gronkowski made the trip to Houston for the Patriots’ Week 14 game against the Texans on Sunday night, per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. The veteran tight end is questionable to play.

The active/inactive lists typically are released around 7 p.m. ET for the Sunday night game.

Gronkowski returned to practice this week, along with injured wide receiver Julian Edelman. Edelman already has been ruled out of Patriots-Texans, though.

Gronk has 57 receptions for 931 yards and nine touchdowns in 11 games.
