FC Barcelona wants to make the good kind of history, rather than the type that comes with falling victim to an upset.

Barcelona will face Guangzhou Evergrande on Thursday at the International Stadium Yokohama in Japan in the semifinals of the 2015 FIFA Club World Cup. The reigning UEFA Champions League winner must defeat Asia’s champion in order to seal a place in Sunday’s final against River Plate.

Barcelona previously won the Club World Cup in 2009 and 2011. Doing so in 2015 would represent a fifth major honor in a historic year for Barcelona.

Guangzhou Evergrande head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari coached Brazil’s national team to victory in the 2002 FIFA World Cup final, which also took place at the International Stadium Yokohama. Can Scolari engineer one of the biggest upsets in the Club World Cup’s history at the scene of his greatest triumph?
