Beyonce’s Controversial Halftime Show Draws Criticism From Rudy Giuliani (Video)

Rudy Giuliani apparently wasn’t a fan of Beyonce’s Super Bowl 50 halftime performance.

The former New York City Republican mayor in a Monday appearance on FOX News criticized the recording for what he called an “outrageous” performance. And he wasn’t talking about the singing.

While it wasn’t abundantly clear at the time, Beyonce’s performance of her new single, “Formation,” partially was a tribute to the women of the Black Panther Party, according to her stylist Marni Senofonte. And Giuliani had some strong opinions on that decision.

“This is football, not Hollywood — and I thought it was really outrageous that (Beyonce) used it as a platform to attack police officers, who are the people who protect her, and protect us, and keep us alive,” Giuliani told FOX News.

“What we should be doing in the African-American community and all communities is build up respect for police officers and focus on the fact that when something does go wrong, okay, we’ll work on that. But the vast majority of police officers risk their lives to keep us safe.”
