The Boston Bruins entered the NHL All-Star break on a low after a 6-2 blowout loss to the Anaheim Ducks. But ever since the B’s returned to the ice, they have been a determined group. And the desired results have followed.
The Bruins have earned five out of a possible six points in their first three games since the break, including their 2-1 overtime win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. And that makes for a happy head coach.
“We can call it probably more determined in all areas,” coach Claude Julien said on “Bruins Overtime Live” after Saturday’s game. “But you have to be a little bit loose here to make some of the plays you saw tonight. That first goal was one that we had patience, we made the right passes for Loui’s goal there.
“It was one of those games, again, that was hard-fought. Even the referees and linesmen mentioned about the pace of the game was extremely quick. … So good pace to the game and obviously a good finish for us.”
