Conor McGregor will get his rematch with Nate Diaz.
Diaz grabbed headlines earlier this month when he took a fight at UFC 196 with McGregor, the current UFC featherweight champion, on short notice and forced him to tap out. The two fought in the 170-pound welterweight division, approximately 25 pounds heavier than McGregor typically fights.
McGregor had been planning to move up a division and fight lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos before the latter pulled out with a broken foot.
Now, official title fights for both the featherweight and lightweight divisions will have to wait, as McGregor-Diaz 2 will main event a stacked card at UFC 200 on July 9, per an announcement on “UFC Tonight.”
In addition to McGregor-Diaz, fans will see top featherweight contenders Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar square off in a bout for the interim featherweight championship, while former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez returns to the octagon in a fight with Ronda Rousey’s boyfriend, Travis Browne.
