Visual Difference Between Conor McGregor At 145, 170 Pounds Is Haunting

Conor McGregor is a terrifying individual, and we mean that in the nicest possible way. Apparently adding a few extra pounds doesn’t change that.

The featherweight champion was supposed to fight up one weight class when he faced Rafael dos Anjos for his lightweight title at UFC 196, but dos Anjos backed out with an injury. That meant the company had to rush to find McGregor a new opponent for the historic pay-per-view.

The answer UFC came up with was Nate Diaz, but in order for that bout to work, McGregor had to go up yet another weight class to fight as a welterweight. The transformation over the past few months is a striking one.

Here’s McGregor at 145 pounds in December before his UFC 194 featherweight fight against Jose Aldo:

And here he is at 170 pounds during this week’s UFC 196 weigh-in before his welterweight fight against Nate Diaz:

What a difference a few months make. And McGregor still looks like someone you don’t want to mess with.
