David Ortiz Happy With Hanley Ramirez’s Offense: ‘He Came With A Plan’

Hanley Ramirez looks like … well, he looks like Hanley Ramirez, which at first glance might be cause for alarm to Boston Red Sox fans.

After all, it was Ramirez who last April inspired visions of World Series sugarplums dancing in people’s heads as every pitch he saw was seemingly the size of a watermelon.

Then, of course, the injuries and slumps came, and Ramirez lost his way both at the plate and in the field.

But if two games can be any indication, David Ortiz thinks those troubles are long gone.

“He came with a plan,” Ortiz told reporters in Cleveland, following the Red Sox’s 7-6 loss to the Indians on Wednesday. “He came with a plan since the first day of spring training. We’ve been talking the whole time about things that we like to do and he’s locked in, man.”

Ramirez is 4-for 8 this season with two runs scored and a home run.

Check out the rest of what Ortiz, who blasted his second home run in as many games Wednesday, had to say about the team and the offense overall in the video from NESN’s “Red Sox Final” above.
