It was a historic winter across Major League Baseball, with several high-profile free agents trading in old uniforms for new ones.
Some of those contracts handed out, though, broke records and made players among the highest paid in baseball.
For example, former Los Angeles Dodgers ace Zack Greinke took his talents to the Arizona Diamondbacks with a six-year, $205.5 million deal. Incredibly enough, that contract ranks as just the 12th-richest in MLB history. It did set the record for highest average annual value, though, as Greinke will rake in more than $34 million per season until 2021.
