Ravens Draft Navy QB Keenan Reynolds, Would’ve Been Fit On Patriots

The Baltimore Ravens selected Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds with the 182nd overall pick (sixth round) in the 2016 NFL Draft on Saturday.

The New England Patriots reportedly were interested in him during the weeks leading up to the draft.

Reynolds is very athletic as a dual-threat quarterback. He totaled 4,559 rushing yards and 88 rushing touchdowns, in addition to 4,001 passing yards and 31 passing touchdowns in four years at Navy.

He’s also a touchdown machine.

Reynolds would’ve been an excellent fit with the Patriots. They have some experience taking college quarterbacks and transitioning them to a different position at the pro level — just look at Julian Edelman.

Reynolds’ versatility, plus the fact he went to Navy (Patriots head coach Bill Belichick’s dad coached at Navy for more than 30 years) were among the reasons why several experts predicted he’d go to New England in their mock drafts.
