Xander Bogaerts: Red Sox’s Offense Needs To Be Patient Against Chris Archer

Xander Bogaerts has had mixed results against Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Archer during his career.

The Boston Red Sox shortstop is 4-for-14 against Archer, but Bogaerts also has eight strikeouts heading into Wednesday’s game at Fenway Park.

“He’s probably one of the most electrifying pitchers in the game,” Bogaerts told NESN’s Gary Striewski on “Red Sox First Pitch.” “He has a great fastball-slider mix. I mean you just have to let him throw strikes. … You got to see how he works in the cold because it’s not easy for everyone to pitch in this weather. So you just got to be a little bit patient.”
