Russell Wilson Cracks Super Bowl Interception Joke In Commencement Speech

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has enjoyed plenty of success in his NFL career, in part due to his ability to put failures to the side and improve.

His most notable failure came in Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots, when he threw an interception at the goal line in the final minute of the game to clinch a fourth championship for the Patriots.

This play might have haunted Wilson for a while, but it appears he’s able to make light of it now. He did so while giving a commencement speech Saturday at the University of Wisconsin — the school where he ended his collegiate career.

“If you’re playing the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, and you’ve got 26 seconds left and you’re down by four and it’s second-and-goal on their 1-yard line, try not to throw an interception,” Wilson told the students.
