Steve Kerr Rips Refs For ‘Ridiculous’ Fouls On Stephen Curry In NBA Finals Game 6

Game 6 of the NBA Finals was a historic moment for the Golden State Warriors last season as they won their first championship in 40 years.

Faced with the same situation Thursday night, the Warriors endured arguably their toughest loss of the season as the Cleveland Cavaliers forced a decisive Game 7 with a 115-101 win.

Foul trouble was an issue for Golden State, as reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry picked up two quick fouls in the first quarter and eventually fouled out for the first time since 2013. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr wasn’t happy with the officiating, and he let it be known in his postgame news conference.

Kerr knows what he’s doing with these comments. A possible fine is well worth the attention — and quite possibly more favorable calls — they will bring in Game 7. Coaches do this all the time.

However, the Warriors need more than some calls to go their way if they’re going to win Game 7 and repeat as champions. Shooting poorly in the first quarter and digging an early hole, like they did in Game 6, could be disastrous Sunday night against a very confident Cavs team led by likely series MVP LeBron James.
