Nebraska, Michigan State Punters Sam Foltz, Mike Sadler Killed In Car Crash

A single-car accident in Wisconsin claimed the lives of Nebraska punter Sam Foltz, 22 years old, and former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler, 24, who was driving the vehicle, on Saturday night.

LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye, who also was in the car, needed stitches and suffered leg burns in the accident, LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette told ESPN. The kickers were returning from Kohl’s Kicking Camp in Wales, Wisconsin, according to camp director Jamie Kohl, via ESPN.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department released the following details about the accident Sunday.

The Michigan State and Nebraska communities reacted to the devastating news with the following statements and tweets.

“Last night, we lost one of the best young men who I have ever had the honor to coach and who has ever worn the Nebraska uniform,” Cornhuskers coach Mike Riley said in a statement, via ESPN. “Sam was universally loved and respected by everyone he touched and on whom he had a positive influence each and every day.
