Mike Gundy is a man. He’s 40 (well, 48 now). And he can wear whatever hairstyle he darn well pleases.
The Oklahoma State football coach, who first gained viral fame back in 2007 with his legendary postgame tirade, again was the talk of the Internet on Monday when he showed up to Big 12 Media Days sporting an exquisite, Barry Melrose-esque mullet.

We have developed a handy guide to Mike Gundy's haircut at #Big12MediaDays. This should explain a lot. pic.twitter.com/wljGEh1qGS

Gundy was unapologetic about his throwback ‘do, saying he initially grew it out to spite his 11-year-old son, Gage.
“I said, ‘If you keep bothering me, I’m not going to cut it.’ So, I let it go now for a couple months,” Gundy said, via The Oklahoman. “He wears on me every day. So now I’m kind of enjoying it.”
But while he’s a fan of the look, he doesn’t believe it truly fits into the “mullet” classification.
“It’s not a real mullet,” Gundy said. “A real mullet has to be at least shoulder length, and you’ve got to have some curls in it.”
Whatever you say, Coach.
