BOSTON — The Red Sox officially have their knuckleballer back.

Steven Wright is back on Boston’s roster after a stint on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder inflammation, just in time to start Friday night against the Kansas City Royals at Fenway Park.

Wright’s last outing was an Aug. 5 complete-game shutout against the Los Angeles Dodgers, so the Red Sox certainly hope he’ll be able to return to form.

As for the rest of Boston’s lineup, Brock Holt will start in left field and bat ninth with right-hander Ian Kennedy on the mound for Kansas City. David Ortiz and catcher Sandy Leon also will be back on the field after a day off Thursday and will bat third and sixth, respectively.

Here are the lineups for Friday night’s game.
