Andrew Benintendi’s recent promotion to the major leagues has been quite the feel-good story, but his addition could have some ramifications on the Boston Red Sox’s lineup.
The 22-year-old outfielder pinch hit in Tuesday’s contest against the Seattle Mariners and made his first big league start Wednesday, tallying two hits. He’s on the bench for Thursday’s series finale, but he still represents an extra body in left field, which has been Brock Holt’s primary post — when healthy — this season.
So, how will Benintendi’s presence affect where and when Holt plays down the stretch? Watch NESN’s Dave O’Brien and Steve Lyons discuss the issue in the “Red Sox Gameday Live” video above.
