David Ortiz probably couldn’t cover much ground if he had to play in the outfield, but in the Boston Red Sox’s final regular-season series at Fenway Park this weekend, he’ll quite literally cover half of center field.
Ahead of this weekend’s series against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Fenway Park grounds crew mowed Big Papi’s likeness into the outfield grass, and aerial shots were provided by a WBZ-TV helicopter.

The three-game set against the Jays will be Ortiz’s last regular-season series at Fenway Park, though he has at least one more playoff series to go. The Red Sox plan to celebrate Ortiz prior to each game, and already have transformed parts of Fenway’s exterior, too.
